Rooibos

Good For Your Health, Good For Your Hair

Known as a “miracle tea” for its tremendous healing powers and anti-aging properties, rooibos tea has 50 times more antioxidants than green tea and helps destroy free radicals. Khoisans, the indigenous Bushmen of the Cederberg region of South Africa, originally harvested the leaves centuries ago as an herbal remedy and delicious drink. We love this broomlike plant so much (it’s actually a legume!) it is a staple in our conscious chemistry. Here’s why we love it as an essential ingredient in our products:

Rooibos is as good for the insides as it in for our hair. Enriched with minerals like calcium, copper, potassium and zinc, this powerhouse plant promotes hair growth and strengthens hair at the root. Allegedly its high levels of copper can also prevent premature greying of the hair! Rooibos also boasts high levels of superoxide dismutase, an antioxidant which boosts the production of healthy skin cells. As a bonus, rooibos is as calming on the scalp as it is in the cup, with a soothing effect on the scalp and skin which makes hair feel silky and smooth.

Our rooibus is sourced from the land down under: Australia.
