Las Vegas Goes Organic & Toxin-Free
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? But, not in this case. Perhaps it’s unexpected to discover a full-service, high-end salon, offering toxin-free alternatives to the conventional salon experience right in Las Vegas. Detox Salon is Las Vegas’ first clean-air salon using all natural products on their guests. Owner Stacey Kaptain doesn’t allow such toxins to be present in their facility.
After being diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases, Stacey started to connect the dots toward exposure of toxins while working in beauty salons during her teen years. Learn more about Stacey, how she made a conscious decision to start healing herself, and discover more about her inspiration for creating Detox Salon. Thank you, Stacey, for choosing Innersense Organic Beauty products for your salon!
Innersense: Why are organic products important to you?
Stacey: I have worked in the salon industry since I was a teen. Little did I know that doing what I was most passionate about would also mean putting my health at stake. I was diagnosed with two autoimmune diseases, which is believed to stem from working with such a toxic load during my developmental years. I was told that I needed multiple surgeries, which I declined initially to go the holistic route and eventually was able to reduce my need for them altogether. Once I made a change to only organic products, I had to value myself, and my clients, enough to stop doing “dirty” services. This is where my true passion for this business really began and the vision for Detox Salon was born.
Innersense: How has using organic beauty products and natural ingredients changed your hair, skin, and mentality as a salon owner?
Stacey: As previously mentioned, health was and always will be the driving force for what we do. I also realized through my journey that organic beauty products not only give me peace of mind for the obvious reasons, but they truly provide a solution to hair and skin problems versus putting a veil over them. Naturally derived products heal hair and skin from the inside out- and that is something I can feel good about.
Innersense: How do you apply your values in your work environment and with your clients?
Stacey: We don’t allow any toxins to come through our doors. Period. We want a place where when a guest picks up a product, they always can be sure that they are not only high performing, but also they are non-harmful to their bodies, the environment, and our furry little friends.
Innersense: What have you noticed about changes in clients’ preferences for organic beauty?
Stacey: There is a shift happening and it is becoming apparent. More and more clients are telling us that they found us by searching for “organic salon” on the major search engines. With social media and the Internet, there is a plethora of education out there about the safety risks of using chemical ridden beauty products. Because of this, our clients’ have made a conscious decision not to turn a blind eye to it. We are proud to be able to demystify what organic beauty really means and help them implement the practice of using exceptional products, like Innersense.
Innersense: What is your favorite Innersense product and why?
Stacey: Do we have to pick one?!? Truly, Innersense as a whole never lets us down. The products don’t just perform as expected, but better than we could have imagined. We love cocktailing I Create Volume and Quiet Calm Curl Control for our curly clients. It gives just the right amount of root lift, hydration and control. But we have also found that the Quiet Calm Curl Control works great as a 2-in-1 product. We almost always recommend it as a staple for our clients’ beauty routines. Let’s face it—some days we want to blow our hair out and other days, we just don’t have the time for it. Quiet Calm Curl Control is a perfect blow-out crème that adds light-weight smoothing on those days that we want to spend the time styling and on those days that we don’t, it works miracles by eliminating frizz and adding definition to curly, wavy or even straight and fine hair that is static prone.
