How To Wash With Our New Hydrating Shampoo

According to television commercials, this is how you wash your hair: Plop a large sized amount shampoo on top of your head. Scoop up your remaining hair and mash it all into a foamy cap. And scrub. That’s not shampooing with intention and that’s not how we do it around here! Think of Innersense Organic Beauty hairbaths more like a facial cleanser: Our products are packed with high vibrational plant ingredients that nourish and cleanse the hair and scalp. Our products are meant to be used with love and intention. Here’s how to get the most out of our new Hydrating Cream Hairbath and not be a shampoo commercial!

Start with thoroughly saturated, wet wet wet (did I say wet?) hair. Dispense a five pence sized amount of Hydrating Cream Hairbath into the palm of your hand. Emulsify this luxurious cream until it spreads and thins, moving it towards the fingertips. Apply to the hairline and nape, massaging and working product onto the scalp. Continue scrubbing the scalp even if no foam is present, add a bit more water to the hair. Massaging the scalp with the fingertips even when no lather is present is still the most effective way to break up the sebum and oils on the scalp, which is really one of the most important parts of a proper shampoo routine.

Massage several more times, paying attention to your scalp. Then rinse the scalp and hair thoroughly. At this point you could start over again, depending how dirty (or undetoxed) your hair and scalp were to start. It is important to note that before you apply more product, be sure to add a bit more water. Once the scalp and roots of the hair are fully attended to then work the remaining hairbath down the hair shaft and unto the rest of the hair. At this point it might be time to add more water and a dime size more product; hair that has not been shampooed in a day or two will most likely need two complete shampoos, the second go around should create a nice lather.

You might experience lather during the first application, that will vary from person to person, your hair type and how long it has been between washings (or if you are new to greener than green shampoos like ours). Once time and attention is placed on this lovely cleansing ceremony, it will become more intuitive and effective for the hair and scalp. And there’s nothing but gorgeous hair days ahead! ~ Joanne
